Wells Fargo offers 13K card-free ATMs for 20M mobile customers

Customers first log into the Wells Fargo mobile app, select Card-Free ATM access under Account Services, and request a one-time-use, 8-digit access code.
SAN FRANCISCO — Wells Fargo Bank announced March 27 that customers now have card-free access to all of its 13,000 ATMs (1) , coast-to-coast.
More than 40 percent (more than 5,000) of Wells Fargo ATMs are currently NFC-enabled.
Recently, Keynote awarded Wells Fargo first place on its biannual Mobile Banking Scorecard, citing the bank’s leadership in digital functionality, quality and availability, ease of use and mobile app experiences.
“At Wells Fargo, we believe the future is cardless, and the launch of One-Time Access Code provides our 20 million mobile banking customers another convenient way to manage money,” said Brett Pitts, head of digital for Virtual Channels.

Wells Fargo launches card-free ATMs

As it stated in SAN FRANCISCO >> Wells Fargo on Monday began to offer card-free ATM access through a coast-to-coast rollout of changes in how people can access the ubiquitous machines.
The new technology is available at all 13,000 Wells Fargo ATM devices.
“We are not saying the card is obsolete,” said Lauren Terreros, a spokeswoman for Wells Fargo.
Then, they can navigate to account services and choose card-free ATM access.
Instead of a physical card, customers will be able to use their mobile Wells Fargo app to choose card-free ATM access and then obtain a one-time token for that session to conduct transactions at the machine.
