Vodafone has announced the merger of its Indian business with rival mobile operator Idea Cellular to create one of the world’s largest telecoms operators.
The combined company will have an enterprise value of around £19bn and be the biggest telecoms operator in India with almost 400m customers and a market share of 35pc.
The deal, which means that Vodafone has gone into business with the powerful Birla dynasty, has been triggered by a mobile price war that was kickstarted by India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and his new operator Reliance Jio.
The announcement ends months of speculation over a possible tie-up.
Idea Cellular Offers Privileges to its Prepaid and Postpaid Customers Under New Idea Select Scheme
The service is available for both prepaid and postpaid users and comes with four plans: Idea Select Titanium, Idea Select Platinum, Idea Select Gold, and Idea Select Silver.
The same scenario applies for every Idea Select plan as the least one of all, the Idea Select Silver requires a minimum of Rs.
Speaking more about the plans, the Idea Select Titanium is the premium membership of all and offers more benefits, which is followed by Idea Select Platinum, Gold, and Silver.
As expected, the Idea Select Silver comes with least advantages of all the four plans.
Every postpaid user of Idea can not be a part of the Idea Select plan as the company has some restrictions.
