as declared in GREEN BAY (WLUK) — New jobs are coming to Wisconsin as the state’s unemployment rate continues to drop.
The Workforce Development said February’s unemployment rate was 3.7% and said it was the lowest since November 2000.
In January, the state’s unemployment rate was 3.9%.
However, Oshkosh Democratic State Representative Gordon Hintz says describing everything as rosy goes too far.
On Thursday, the state announced German-based Haribo has plans to build a manufacturing plant in the southeastern part of the state.

The Kenosha County plant will create 400 jobs, according to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, and is scheduled to open in 2020.
He noted that Wisconsin first started speaking with Haribo about the project about six months ago.
The project marks one of the largest investments from a foreign company in the state’s history, the governor’s office said.
Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser said the manufacturing plant “will have a tremendous impact on our country and our state,” adding, “this is a sweet day for Kenosha County.”

March 24 (UPI) — German candy company Haribo, makers of gummy candies, will build its first North American factory in Wisconsin, Gov.
The new gummy bear manufacturing facility will open in Kenosha County in 2020.
“Haribo is a great fit with the many other iconic companies that already call Wisconsin home.
Haribo’s iconic product is formally called the “GoldBear,” a small, gum-based soft candy shaped like a teddy bear.
The state’s business-friendly climate and strong fiscal management, along with our dedicated workforce and reliable infrastructure, are among the many reasons Haribo decided Wisconsin was the right choice for this facility,” Walker said Thursday in a statement.
