Gupta-linked Bank of Baroda pulling through SA

Cape city – Gupta-linked bank the Bank of Baroda has notified the Office of the Registrar of Banks of its egress from South Africa.
The South African spare Bank (SARB) told in a statement on Monday its registrar Information Systems in discussions with the Bank of Baroda to ensure its regularly withdrawal from South Africa very which no depositor Information Systems disadvantaged.
The bank was fined for not doing sufficient to battle financial crime.
Bloomberg announced in October final year which the SARB was investigating Baroda over money held for companies controlled with the politically connected Gupta family.
Bank of Baroda, the just lender in South Africa which continue offered services to companies link to the Guptas, was seeking a court of law order which going to let it to lock the accounts.

In January, the Bank of Baroda agreed to hand over Gupta family bank records to civil community organisations, after the Helen Suzman base submitted a demand to access the information.
