“NBC News” said : Confirmation Hearings to Begin for Trump Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch

as mentioned in

Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 1.
Neil Gorsuch, chosen by President Trump to succeed Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court, goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday for a three-day confirmation hearing.
He would be the first Supreme Court justice from the Rocky Mountain west in 24 years and the first Protestant on the current court.
If confirmed, Gorsuch would take the bench in time to hear the last two weeks of courtroom argument left in the current Supreme Court term.

Trump Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch Hearing: A Preview

Nominated by President Donald Trump to fill a year-old vacancy on the court, Gorsuch is a conservative appeals court judge from Colorado.
Democrats face an uphill battle to block Gorsuch, who like all Supreme Court justices would serve for life if confirmed.
Trump nominated Gorsuch, 49, to replace conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in February 2016.
U.S. Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch will face tough scrutiny at his Senate confirmation hearing starting on Monday, with Democrats seeking to make the case that he is a pro-business, social conservative insufficiently independent of the president.
If Gorsuch is approved by the Senate, as expected, he would restore a narrow 5-4 conservative majority on the court.

Make Neil Gorsuch actually answer questions in his Supreme Court confirmation hearings

The Senate will begin its confirmation hearings for President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch, on March 20.
The purpose of Supreme Court confirmation hearings is for the Senate to give its “advice and consent” on the suitability of a nominated judge.
Despite her critique, when Kagan appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee, she was no more forthcoming than other Supreme Court nominees.
The author of that critique was Elena Kagan, now a Supreme Court justice herself.
If past is prologue, the hearings will tell us little to nothing about what Gorsuch actually thinks about today’s pressing legal issues.
