Police tape (Photo: file photo) The Knoxville Police Department responded to a shooting at the Dollar General at 2265 McCalla Ave. Friday night around 8 p.m.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call the department’s Crime and Drug Hotline at 865-215-7212.
According to a news release, when officers arrived they found one male with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
There had been no arrests and there was no more information available Friday night.

DGX, Dollar General’s new smaller-format concept, is now open on West End Avenue.
There are similarities between a traditional Dollar General store and DGX, but the smaller-format store features a more modern design, a curated selection of goods and a brewed coffee station for metropolitan shoppers.
Dollar General plans to open a second DGX in Raleigh, N.C.
The store at 2034 West End Ave. is the flagship location for the Goodlettsville-based discount retailer’s quick-trip urban store.

Knox County Dispatchers told Local 8 News that police officers were heading to the Dollar General Store in East Knoxville after receiving calls about a possible shooting.
The victim was taken to UT Knoxville Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Crews were sent to 2265 McCalla Avenue where dispatchers said there was one victim.
